Hosted by Shire of Eisental - Lehighton, PA
Event Last Modified: April 26th, 2009
Unto the populace of the Known World, greetings from the Shire of Eisental. It is with glad hearts that we invite one and all to our second University for the arts of 'modern warfare' in the 15th & 16th centuries.
This Academy will focus on gunnery for both artillery and hand gunners, as well as pike and pole arm drill and formations. Gunnery ranges as well as drill fields will be open all day. An array of other classes will be offered pertaining but not limited to period cooking, herbalism, thrown weapons and garb (those interested in teaching please contact Jenn Oaks at ).
All are invited to participate in the A&S display. We would like to see completed works and works-in-progress in various disciplines, including but not limited to gunnery, combat, and camp life. Members of the populous may bring tokens if they wish to express their appreciation for entries in the display.
An enchanted area will be set up for those wishing to participate in the period encampment competition. We are pleased to announce this year the addition of a great weapons only tournament. The format TBA at the event.
Please bring your feast gear for a sumptuous afternoon-long repast will be offered once again this year. Don't forget your coin purses for merchants are invited to display their wares in both the large hall as well as merchant's grove. We would like to invite all folk with an interest in late-period camping and warfare to join us for the weekend, set amidst the beauty of foliage at the well known site of the Ukranian Homestead.
